Youth Ministry Team

Mission statement: The mission of Waterford’s youth ministry is inviting every youth to commit to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ thru participation in worship, Bible study, prayer practices, and baptism, developing peer relationships within the group, mentoring and supporting them toward a deeper understanding of wholeness in tandem with the wider church community, and encouraging them to bring healing and hope to the world by providing resources and experiences.

Junior MYF is for those in grades 6-8. It meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 6:30, with some exceptions. These meetings involve some social time, refreshments, and either Bible or issue input appropriate for the age. Adult sponsors are present at all events.

MYF meets every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. There is a regular monthly schedule of Bible study, social events, service, and small groups. Currently there are 29 youth involved from four area high schools. This same group meets for Sunday morning nurture hour at 10:30 a.m. Youth coordinators, a youth council, seven sponsors, and a youth pastor lead the group.
